Note that counts.

Type lines like rent 1200 and groceries 340. The results appear beside them, with a running total, and your notes stay on your Mac.

Plain notes, quietly capable

summy stays a notepad. The extras show up when you reach for them.

  • Live totals and variables

Write numbers next to words and read the results in the right-hand column. Name a value once, reuse it below, and aggregates like total keep up as you type.

  • My Numbers

Named live values such as {usd to eur} that a small JavaScript script refreshes: exchange rates, stock prices, values from an API. Secrets stay on your Mac.

  • Inline attachments

Drop images, PDFs, video and audio right into a note and open them in a lightbox. Text in images is recognised with OCR.

  • Export

Take a note out as PDF, PNG, Markdown or plain text.

  • Agent scratchpad

An optional local MCP server lets Claude Code read, append to and edit your notes. A note can be locked while the agent writes, and you can take over at any time.

  • Share a live link

Publish a note at an unlisted summy.ink link that updates as you type. Anyone with the link can read it. Stop sharing whenever you like.

Local-first, by default

Your notes are yours. They sit in files on your machine until you decide to share one.

  • Notes live on your Mac

Everything is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Ongko/.

  • Nothing leaves unless you share

There is no account and no sync. Script secrets stay local too.

  • Shared links are unlisted

A shared note gets an unguessable link that is not indexed by search engines. You can stop sharing at any time.

Questions

Where are my notes stored?

On your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Ongko/. Nothing leaves your machine unless you share a note.

Which Macs does it run on?

summy is built for Apple silicon Macs.

What is My Numbers?

Named live values you drop into a note as a pill, like {usd to eur}. A small JavaScript script refreshes each one, for example an exchange rate, a stock price or a value from an API. Any secrets the script needs are kept locally.

How does the agent scratchpad work?

You can turn on an optional local MCP server so Claude Code can list, read, append to and edit your notes. A note can be locked while the agent writes, and you can take over whenever you want.

Who can see a note I share?

Anyone who has the link. Shared notes live at an unlisted summy.ink link, are not listed in search, and update as you type. You can stop sharing at any time.

Do I need an account?

No. summy has no sign-in. Sharing a note does not need one either.
